1. About the App

JW Habits is a personal study, routine, and habit tracking app designed to help users build and maintain spiritual habits.

The App may include features such as habit tracking, goals, streaks, achievements, progress visualization, optional social features, friend connections, challenges, activity sharing, and profile pages.

JW Habits is a privately developed tool. The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by, or officially connected to Jehovah's Witnesses, the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, or any official religious organization.

All content and features are independent and intended for personal use only.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old or the minimum age required by the laws of your country to use the App and create an account.

By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

If you are under the required age, you must not create an account or use the App's account-based features.

3. Account Registration and Security

Some features of the App may require an optional account. The App can still be used without an account, but certain social or cloud-based features may only be available to registered users.

When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate and current information.

You are responsible for:

• keeping your login credentials secure;
• all activity that occurs under your account;
• ensuring that your profile information complies with these Terms.

You must not:

• create an account using false, misleading, or abusive information;
• impersonate another person or organization;
• use another person's account without permission;
• attempt to access accounts, data, or systems without authorization.

If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us as soon as possible.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

Certain features of the App may require an active subscription.

Subscriptions may be offered through the Apple App Store and/or Google Play Store.

Depending on the platform used:

• payment will be charged to your Apple ID account or Google Play account;
• subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date according to the applicable store rules;
• free trials, if offered, may automatically convert into paid subscriptions unless canceled before the trial ends;
• you can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.

We do not process or store your payment details. Payments are handled securely by Apple, Google, or the relevant app store provider.

We use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service, to manage and process subscription status across platforms. RevenueCat may receive purchase-related data such as transaction identifiers and subscription status in order to provide this functionality. RevenueCat does not process your payment directly.

Refunds, cancellations, and billing issues are generally handled according to the rules of the app store through which you purchased the subscription.

5. Use of the App

You agree to use the App only for lawful, respectful, and personal purposes.

You agree not to:

• reverse engineer, copy, resell, sublicense, or distribute the App;
• misuse, disrupt, overload, or interfere with the App or its services;
• attempt to bypass security, privacy, subscription, or access controls;
• upload, submit, share, or display illegal, harmful, abusive, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, discriminatory, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate content;
• use the App to harass, shame, pressure, manipulate, or harm other users;
• use automated systems, bots, scraping tools, or similar methods without permission;
• use the App in a way that violates the rights of others or applicable laws.

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to accounts or features if these Terms are violated.

6. Optional Social Features

The App may include optional social features, such as:

• user profiles;
• display names and usernames;
• avatar selection;
• friend requests;
• friend lists;
• activity feeds;
• reactions;
• streak challenges;
• friend challenges;
• shared progress or activity summaries.

These features are optional. You can use the core App without creating an account or using social features.

By using social features, you acknowledge that certain information may be visible to other users depending on your settings and interactions.

For example, your friends may be able to see selected profile information, activity updates, challenge progress, achievements, or other shared progress information if you choose to make those visible.

You are responsible for the information you choose to share.

7. User Profiles, Usernames, and Avatars

If you create a profile, you may be able to choose a display name, username, avatar, profile text, favorite Bible verse, or other profile information.

You must not use profile information that:

• is offensive, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, threatening, or harassing;
• impersonates another person, organization, religious group, or official entity;
• falsely suggests an affiliation with JW Habits, Jehovah's Witnesses, or any official religious organization;
• infringes trademarks, copyrights, privacy rights, or other rights of third parties;
• contains personal data of another person without permission;
• contains advertisements, spam, scams, or misleading claims;
• is otherwise inappropriate or unlawful.

We may remove, restrict, or modify profile content, usernames, avatars, or account access if we believe they violate these Terms or create risk for other users or the App.

Usernames may be limited by technical rules, availability, length, format, and moderation requirements. We do not guarantee that any username will remain available or assigned permanently.

8. User Content

The App may allow you to create, store, sync, or share content, including but not limited to:

• habit entries;
• notes;
• experiences;
• goals;
• profile information;
• favorite texts;
• activity updates;
• reactions;
• challenge participation;
• shared progress summaries.

You remain responsible for the content you create or share.

By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide right to store, process, transmit, display, and technically handle your content only as necessary to provide and improve the App's functionality.

We do not claim ownership of your personal content.

You must not create or share content that violates the law, these Terms, the rights of others, or the privacy of another person.

9. Activity Sharing and Privacy Controls

The App may provide privacy settings that allow you to control which activity types may be visible to friends.

For example, you may be able to choose whether friends can see selected activity types such as:

• habit completions;
• streak milestones;
• Faith House level progress;
• unlocked achievements;
• challenge-related activity.

The App is designed so that shared activity is limited and controlled by privacy settings. However, no online system can be guaranteed to be completely error-free.

You should not share information through the App that you consider highly sensitive or that you do not want others to see.

10. Analytics and Usage Data

The App uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to collect anonymized data about how the App is used.

TelemetryDeck does not collect personally identifiable information. Usage signals such as feature interactions and general app behavior are hashed and anonymized before transmission and cannot be traced back to individual users.

We use this data solely to understand how the App is used, identify issues, and improve the App experience.

11. Friend Requests, Challenges, and Reactions

If you use friend, feed, challenge, or reaction features, you agree to interact respectfully with other users.

You must not:

• repeatedly send unwanted friend requests or challenges;
• use reactions or challenges to pressure, shame, harass, or manipulate others;
• attempt to view, collect, or misuse another user's private information;
• use social features for spam, promotion, scams, or inappropriate communication.

We may limit, remove, or disable social features if they are misused.

12. Moderation and Enforcement

We may review, remove, restrict, or disable content, profiles, usernames, accounts, or social interactions if we believe they:

• violate these Terms;
• create legal, technical, reputational, or safety risks;
• are reported by other users;
• interfere with the intended use of the App;
• may harm other users or the App.

We may take action with or without prior notice, depending on the situation.

Possible actions include:

• removing or hiding content;
• restricting social features;
• rejecting or changing a username;
• suspending or terminating an account;
• blocking access to certain features;
• deleting unlawful or harmful content.

We are not obligated to monitor all user content, but we reserve the right to do so where appropriate.

13. Account Deletion

You may delete your account through the App if this feature is available, or by contacting us.

Deleting your account may remove your online account data, profile, social connections, feed entries, reactions, challenges, and other account-based data stored on our servers.

Deleting your online account does not necessarily delete local data stored only on your device, unless the App explicitly provides such an option.

Some data may be retained where required by law, necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legitimate business purposes.

14. Intellectual Property

All design elements, icons, graphics, code, features, layouts, branding, and App content created by JW Habits or its developer are protected by intellectual property rights unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, resell, or reuse the App or its content without permission.

All trademarks, names, references, or materials belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners.

15. Not Affiliated with Jehovah's Witnesses

JW Habits is a privately developed tool created for personal habit tracking and study support.

It is not produced, approved, endorsed, maintained, or supported by Jehovah's Witnesses, the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, or any official religious organization.

Any references to spiritual habits, Bible study, or related topics are intended for personal organization and motivation only.

16. Availability and Changes to the App

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App at any time.

We do not guarantee that the App or any feature will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Features may change over time, including social features, subscription features, account features, and supported platforms.

17. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available.”

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:

• uninterrupted availability;
• error-free operation;
• fitness for a particular purpose;
• accuracy of content or progress data;
• compatibility with all devices or systems;
• achievement of any personal, spiritual, or habit-related outcome.

Use of the App is at your own risk.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages;
• we are not liable for loss of data, lost profits, interruption of use, or unauthorized access caused by factors outside our reasonable control;
• our total liability for any claim related to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for your most recent subscription period, if any.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If we make significant changes, we may notify you through the App, by email, or by another appropriate method.

Continued use of the App after the updated Terms become effective means that you accept the updated Terms.

If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.

20. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it or deleting your account if account deletion is available.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App or specific features if:

• you violate these Terms;
• you misuse the App;
• legal or security reasons require it;
• the App or a feature is discontinued.

After termination, provisions that by their nature should continue to apply will remain in effect, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law.

21. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts of Germany, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
